A Study in Motion with artist Deborah Hill

Artist Deborah Hill finds inspiration in the depth of color and form in the natural world, rural vistas, beaches, and marsh, although equally inspired working from a still life in the studio.

Utilizing the interjection of abstract elements by means of color, brushwork, and paint application giving the viewer a kind of “visual roadmap” to navigate through the painting.

Deborah’s series “Crossroads” is an ongoing body of work where the main concept is mobility. The series explores the idea that mobility is not limited to physical actions, it can be a “state of mid” ruled by circumstances. The subject of the horse, being one of our first means of mobility.

Deborah is a classically trained artist having earned a BFA with a concentration in painting, living and painting as a professional in Charleston SC and Upstate New York with collections nationwide and internationally.
