Megan Ruch, born and raised in Albany, NY, has had a love for painting and was a self taught artist at a very young age. Her bright color palette expresses a surreal, representational view of her focus on pools as a series and as a subject. Her minimal approach to composition, color and light is distinctly American in influence.
"Spending time in our cottage in Antigua and camp in Lake George, NY, along with swimming in a swim team here at home has created a deep fascination of nature, water and all it's surrounding elements. Water has been my main subject in all my work; how it moves and how it reflects light."
These fleeting moments make the mood and atmosphere of water unmistakable and also a great artistic challenge. Ruch's work has been collected internationally and exhibited throughout the United States.
