Christie Marinelli

About Christie Marinelli Nee Peterson

Ms. Peterson picked up a paint brush in 1992, creating her first work on canvas. After that painting became essential to her daily life; she fell in love with the arts. However, in deciding to be more practical she earned a BA in computer graphics from California State University. After her Bachelors she attended multiple continuing education classes at the Art Center in Pasadena, CA. After moving to Rhode Island in 2004 Ms. Peterson enrolled in Rhode Island School of Design’s certificate program in painting.

Ms. Peterson feels there is always room to grow and people to learn from; she is a life-long learner. She never thought to be lucky enough to make a career out of painting. Ms. Peterson was a master apprentice to the America artist Thomas Kinkade for three years. While there she hand embellished Mr. Kinkade’s reproductions. The detail oriented tasks prepared Ms. Peterson for her future as a nautical artist. Her precision, attention to detail and remarkable sense of color is what makes her work so well loved and sought out. Both her RISD education and new found love for the North Eastern coast have morphed her style into something wholly unique.

Ms. Peterson is well collected throughout the United States and Europe. Recently her works have been found in homes of celebrities.
