Jonathan Stasko grew up exploring the foothills and valleys south of the Adirondacks. History is as rich as the soil in the Northeast, and it wound itself into his childhood fantasies and drawings. He became captivated by historical illustrations from textbooks and magazines, and continued to draw, acquiring a keen interest for narrative art and the human figure in action. Supported in his love for art and history by his family, he studied the works of American illustrators from the past century to the present.

Jonathan worked as a commercial illustrator for a publisher of children’s educational material. He has had gallery representation in Colorado and New York, and regularly participates in national and regional art exhibits and sales. He also enjoys working in professional portraiture while pursuing his career as a fine artist.

Jonathan believes art should communicate a constructive message, and affect viewers in a positive manner. ough he enjoys various types of subject matter, the majority of his work is figurative with sacred, historical, and nostalgic themes. He finds inspiration in the study of the Scripture, America’s past, and the indelible spirit of man. It is his desire to transfer that inspiration to viewers through his art.
