Elaine Franz Witten is an award-winning, classically trained bronze sculptor,
casting with the ancient lost wax method. Her work has won prizes in both
national and international exhibitions, and are in public, private and corporate collections in U.S., and Canada. She also has a sculpture in the private collection of the King of Saudi Arabia. In 2013 Witten became a purveyor to the U.S. State Department. Elaine’s sculpture aims to capture the expressive form, gesture, and spirit of her subjects through simplicity and realism. Much of her work gives the illusion of movement and utilizes negative space in creative ways, marrying classic technique with innovative design. Her Vermont landscape gives her first hand exposure to her horse, llama, moose, goat and bird subjects. Her work a registered nurse provides her with knowledge of human anatomy, informing her figurative sculptures. These subjects, with the addition of antique musical instruments, make up the body of her work.
