Charles Gibson paints contemporary landscapes and abstracts in oil, acrylic, and pastel.  His style embraces vibrant colors and luminous saturated tones, frequently offering a different impression of nature.  Gibson’s work invites the viewer to step back and discover unconventional freedom in the use of colors.  Decorators are highly appreciative of his work, having noted that he has the flexibility to employ a similar palette across a multiplicity of styles.  This makes it possible to create a color harmony from room to room and from area to area, while the style might be changing from figurative to representational or abstract.

Charles was born in Chicago, where he graduated from “The American Academy of Art”.  He worked for many years, both in the United States and South America, as an illustrator, photographer, art director and advertising film director.  However his love and knowledge of art, antiques and appraising gradually drew him away from advertising.  Eventually his passion for fine art led him to painting full-time while traveling around the world, in order to experience and absorb the work of other artists.
